Sitting within a small, boutique site of just eight holiday properties, this studio-style escape puts the emphasis on reconnection with an open-plan layout that includes all the creature comforts. Doors from the patio open onto a light-filled space where you can watch TV from both the plush sofa and your king-size bed. A mile from your doorstep, Gatehouse of Fleet has plenty of options for dining out, but if you’d prefer quiet nights in your kitchen houses all the must-haves of home, while the dining suite serves up gorgeous rural views. We recently stayed at The Den in Gatehouse of Fleet and overall had a pleasant stay. The location is superb, with a lovely walk into Gatehouse of Fleet itself, which is a charming little town, and its only a short drive to some absolutely amazing beaches. The accommodation was beautifully furnished and finished to a high standard, and we appreciRead moreated being able to bring our two dogs. We also had a secluded garden area, although unfortunately it wasnt secure, which was a disappointment when travelling with dogs. Fantastic hot tub that was cleaned during our stay. The small patio lacked comfortable outdoor furniture for relaxing. For us, The Den was a little too small for a week-long stay, particularly as we were travelling on to the Lake District afterwards and had a lot of luggage. Storage space is quite limited, so while it would be perfect for a long weekend or short break, we found it a bit challenging for a longer stay. Our particular aspect wasnt the best in terms of views, although we were aware of this before booking. Having seen the larger cottages on site, we would definitely consider returning and staying in one of those, as they appear to have stunning views. Considering the price, we were disappointed that there was no welcome pack provided, or even the option to purchase one. Cleaning equipment was stored in another cabin next to the laundry room rather than within the accommodation itself. Overall, we enjoyed our stay thanks to the excellent location and quality furnishings, but for our needs we would choose one of the larger cottages if we returned. Hide

Smaller than it looks but really nice. Bed super comfy. Has everything you need.

Annabelle's Den was a lovely cozy cabin for a couple of nights away. Gatehouse of Fleet is a lovely village as well - will definitely be coming back
