History-loving hounds will enjoy morning walkies around Winster’s conservation streets, home to around 70 listed buildings including the 17th-century Market House. Multiple walking and cycling routes lead from the village to the surrounding countryside, characterised by limestone cliffs and drystone walls, typical of the White Peak region. The market towns of Matlock, Matlock Bath and Bakewell (within 6.5 miles) offer independent shops and eateries, riverside strolls and lots of lovely local produce. Chatsworth House (9 miles) welcomes well-behaved dogs in the gardens and parkland.
