Tucked into the leafy heart of Gnoll Country Park, this handsome stone cottage puts you and your four-legged companion right among miles of green trails, shady woodland and lakeside paths. It’s a dream setting for morning wanders with your faithful hound straight from the door, with plenty of routes for stretching legs and sniffing out new scents.
Once the park’s old groundskeeper’s lodge, this characterful hideaway has been lovingly updated while keeping its original charm. Step into the welcoming dining room, where a tiled floor and a generous table make it easy to gather for hearty breakfasts after early strolls with your canine companion. Next door, the country-style kitchen, complete with a Belfast sink and plenty of worktops, is ready for cooking up something special. As dusk falls, move through to the living room and settle by the wood burner, warmed by sustainably sourced logs from the park. A sleek shower room with a walk-in shower cubicle sits on the ground floor. Upstairs are two king-size bedrooms and a twin, finished in calming tones for a good night’s sleep, plus a family bathroom with a brick feature wall. Outside, private gardens wrap around the cottage, giving both guests and their furry pals space to potter and snooze in the sunshine. A patio terrace to the rear and side is set up for outdoor meals, while the front seating area looks over the pond and passing wildlife – a favourite spot for curious pups to watch the world go by. Parking for up to three cars is provided.
There’s a cafe within the park for refuelling after walkies, while further afield, the sandy shores and dog-friendly promenades of Mumbles (14 miles) beckon. Head the other way and the waterfalls, gorges and forest tracks of the Brecon Beacons National Park (14 miles) give adventurous pups and their people a whole new playground to explore.
