Cosy and filled with charm, this traditional cottage is a wonderful base for a small family or an intimate group of friends. Located around a mile from Hawes in the quaint village of Burtersett, it’s perfectly placed for walkers and nature lovers keen to explore the rugged landscape and characterful towns of the Yorkshire Dales.

Bursting with country cottage charm, this stone-built abode feels cosy and welcoming with traditional fireplaces, wood panelling and relaxed, rural decor. Wipe muddy paws in the hallway before heading into the inviting lounge/diner, where you can unwind in comfortable seating to catch up with your favourite TV programmes while your pups snooze by the roaring wood burner. Rustle up some home-cooked treats in the characterful kitchen, before settling around the table in the lounge for meals with a view. When it’s time to rest your head, two inviting bedrooms await upstairs, a king-size and a twin, both featuring cosy, patterned throws and lovely countryside views. Make the most of warm weather with a small seating area to the rear of the cottage, ideal for a morning cuppa or evening drink. There’s a handy outhouse for storing bikes and outdoor gear, while a shared driveway offers first come, first served parking for one car. Further on-street parking can be found in the village.

With the market town of Hawes around a mile away, you’ll find a selection of shops, cafes and pubs alongside attractions such as the wonderful Wensleydale Creamery. From here, you can pick up scenic riverside trails along the River Ure to Garsdale Head (7.5 miles), Cotter Force (3.5 miles) and Aysgarth Falls (9 miles).
