With red squirrels running by and magnificent fell views to enjoy from home, this stunning Lakeland property is a top choice for both man and dog alike. Your entire pack will no doubt find something to write home about during a stay in this delightful cottage, which comfortably sleeps five human guests and two beloved pups. We’re certain your four-pawed pals will find cosy sleeping spots in front of the wood burners in the lounge and dining room, tails wagging with exhaustion after long hikes and unforgettable walkies in the surrounding National Park.

Lovingly presented, with plenty of traditional features, this charming stone house maintains an elegant country style. With flagged stone flooring on the ground floor, you won’t have to worry about muddy paws making a mess the moment you step inside. Make a beeline for the hub of the kitchen and warm up by the authentic oil Aga before throwing logs on the wood burners. A handy ground-floor utility room offers washing facilities, perfect for throwing dog towels and muddy outerwear in to wash, and a covered storage area outside, off the kitchen, allows for storage of activity gear and bikes. Let the dogs enjoy a stroll around the enclosed garden space whilst you sit with a morning coffee, soaking up the stunning views of surrounding fells.

Let your canine companions sniff out some adventure close by, discovering the waters of Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater (1 mile and 3 miles respectively). There’s plenty of wildlife to be chased and views to be enjoyed when hiking the surrounding mountains, finding Skiddaw (5 miles), Blencathara (9 miles) and Grisedale Pike (7 miles) accessible from your doorstep. Alternatively, for less energetic pups who can’t face a mountain hike, enjoy the luscious terrain of the Whinlatter Forest Park just 6 miles away.

Nicely modernised without going full 'modern' which is really good. We felt completely comfortable coming in with our dog and being wet and muddy wet and muddy. I think the view out of the front windows are probably the best in England!

Good sized house in quiet location. Fabulous view over the hills. The walk into Keswick took us about and hour over the fields. Showers were nice and hot, beds comfortable enough. Perfect house to accommodate two couples and 2 dogs. The house is comfortable but dated in its decoration and in its provision of cooking/ dining equipment.

The cottage is lovely however, it needs to be updated ie decor, and furnishings , wallpaper peeling off in places. We stayed here 4 years ago and nothing appeared to have been changed.

Unfortunately we only got to stay for one night for to a family emergency so therefore can't leave a proper review. We did think the property was very comfortable and spacious in a great location. Loved the authentic old school house, was beautiful and cozy. Log burner was a cherry on the top, was warm, clean, amazing views, loved it. Small enclosed area for dogs. Sweet garden bench with stunning views. Locals were very friendly. Highly recommend and would come again.

Great location just out of town so we were close enough to all the amenities but also had great views and felt we were away from all the noise and in the countryside. Plenty of room for the family to have their own space while still having a big table and room to enjoy family games and eat together. I would definitely rebook and miss the views alreRead moready! The location of the cottage is amazing and the space was great, especially as the weather wasn't brilliant so we did utilise all the space. Views from the house were outstanding. The owner was very friendly and helpful, especially when we found a wasps nest, he came straight away and sorted it out. Beds were very comfortable. Keswick itself is closRead moree by and has all the shops you would need and a very good local market on Saturdays and Thursdays. Shops and eateries very dog friendly too. Hide

WHAT.A.VIEW. Honestly the most spectacular location for a cottage. The view changes constantly and is beautiful even when the weather isnt. We had a fabulous stay in this cottage. The lounge is lovely and cosy, especially with the log burner going and the kitchen is well equipped. Loved it. Great walks from the door and easy to get into Keswick.

A beautiful spacious cottage with fantastic views. Well equipped and had a very homely feeling. Plenty of off road parking. Owner lives next door and was very friendly and responsive when we encountered a problem with the oven. Welcome pack a little underwhelming so make sure you take enough dishwasher tablets for the number of days you are stayingRead more and as you cant get in before 5pm and nearest shops are in Keswick take milk so you can have a decent cupper. A great place to see red squirels. Hide
