Sleeping up to four guests, this bright and breezy hideaway sits in a great location for walkers, beach lovers and anyone travelling with a four-legged friend to the popular coastal village of Bembridge, on the eastern tip of the Isle of Wight. The year-round dog-friendly beach is just under a mile away – a lovely stretch for early-morning wanders with your canine companion while looking out across the Solent.
Step inside this cheerful retreat and you’ll find a light, welcoming lounge with two comfortable sofas and a Smart TV – a great space to flop down after long coastal walks with your loyal hound at your feet. From here, the dining room leads on to a bright galley kitchen, well-equipped for cooking family meals. A handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer opens straight out to the garden, making muddy boots, wet coats and soggy fur much easier to deal with. Steep cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor, where there are two bright and breezy king-size bedrooms with wooden floors and plush beds – one can be set up as a twin if needed. There’s also a contemporary shower room, a snug for quiet reading, and a separate dressing room off the main bedroom. Outside, an enclosed garden with patio, lawn and garden furniture gives both people and pups a safe place to potter about. It’s a lovely setting for al fresco meals or a cuppa while your furry pal dozes in the sunshine. Private parking for one car is right in front of the house.
Bembridge itself has a lively harbour, shops, cafes and landmarks such as Bembridge Windmill, Culver Down and the Earl of Yarborough monument, all linked by footpaths that curious hounds will love. Nearby St Helens (3 miles) is known for the dunes and rockpools at St Helens Duver Bay, an excellent spot for pets to sniff about, while Ryde (7 miles) adds traditional seaside fun and plenty of pet-positive cafes.
