Get tails wagging with a peaceful break in this charming stone cottage. Offering panoramic views from its lovely terrace, it’s a serene base for couples, friends or small families looking for days spent on scenic walks and evenings by the wood burner with your furry pals at your feet.

Set at the end of a quiet country lane, the cottage has a reverse-level design to make the most of its views. Follow your pups up the stairs straight to the first floor, where the open-plan living space invites you all to relax. Warm colours, hardwood flooring and a wood burner contribute to the welcoming atmosphere, and there’s a choice of comfortable seating by the Smart TV, with plenty of room for dog beds on the floor. The kitchen combines country chic with practical, modern appliances, including a microwave and a dishwasher, and you can gather for delicious feasts at the table below the skylight. On the ground floor, two pretty bedrooms offer restful spaces in which to unwind, sharing a beautiful family bathroom. French doors on the first floor open to a raised terrace with far-reaching views through the trees – an idyllic spot for coffees, al fresco meals, or simply sitting with a book. You are also welcome to explore the owner’s beautiful gardens at ground level. Two private parking spaces are also included.

The cottage is located between the villages of Huntley, 2 miles away, and Longhope, 1 mile away, both offering country pubs and independent shops. Within the Forest of Dean, there are walking trails galore, and there’s a wonderful walk for stretching furry legs along the banks of the River Severn, 5 miles away, towards Chepstow, 23 miles away.

This is a lovely cottage in a very special location. It's so quiet and peaceful. The cottage had plenty of room for the 4 of us, the beds are comfortable and the owners made us feel very welcome. We will definitely look to return on future trips. Thank you.

Amazing location and beautiful layout that makes the most of the view. Ideally placed for the Forest of Dean or Bristol depending on what you are looking for. Be advised the driveway up is single lane and steep but worth it

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, which was exactly as expected. Gail & Roger were friendly, attentive hosts, checking in regularly to ensure that we had everything we needed. The cottage itself was clean, cosy and comfortable. Beautiful views, chickens running about and Meg the dog being super excited to see us each day was also lovely. Its Read moreperfect for a family stay and well located in Gloucestershire to visit some great locations like Puzzlewood, Clearwell caves and Gloucester city. We would definitely stay here again in future. Hide
