This charming holiday retreat is in the quaint village of Latton, 8 miles from the historic town of Cricklade. The single-storey cottage welcomes four guests and one waggy-tailed companion, and suits both couples and small families looking to explore the beautiful Cotswold landscape. The cottage is just 6 miles from Cotswold Water Park, where you and your furry sidekick can enjoy walks around the lakes and waterside picnics.
The rural hideaway seamlessly blends contemporary decor and design with the property’s original features. Step inside into the hallway, where you can store all your dog-walking gear, before heading through to the bright, open-plan living, kitchen and dining area. At one end of the room is a sleek kitchen perfect for preparing delicious feasts, which you can share at the wooden dining table or breakfast bar. In the evenings, stretch out on the sofa to read a book or catch up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. At the end of each day away, retire for the night and choose from a master double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a free-standing bath, and a cosy twin room that makes use of a separate shower room. Outside, sip a glass of wine on the patio, or sink into your bubbling hot tub under the stars whilst the pup plays on the enclosed lawn. Private parking is available for two cars.
Cricklade, known as the southern gateway to the Cotswolds, makes a lovely day out. Wander its historic streets, peruse the shops, or join the heritage trail to admire the town’s fascinating listed buildings and architecture. For longer dog walks, you can pick up the Thames Path National Trail. Further afield, enjoy a day trip to Bibury (11.5 miles), described by William Morris as ‘the most beautiful village in England’.
