Nestled on the edge of the North Pennines and only a short distance from Lake District in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this cosy cottage welcomes four guests and one canine chum to a countryside holiday. Spend your days exploring rolling hillsides, babbling brooks and enjoying hours of walkies along pretty lanes, before returning to relax in front of the wood burner, glass of wine in hand and pup snoozing at your feet.

Low ceilings, rustic oak beams and country-cottage styling creates a cosy and welcoming home from home here. Curl up on the sofas to relax after a long day out walking, while your pup stretches out at your feet next to the crackling wood burner. Cook up a storm in the kitchen and gather for meals at the dining table, the perfect spot to enjoy some home-cooked food with your loved ones enjoying views across the fields. Wake refreshed in bright bedrooms and enjoy your morning coffee in the small unfenced seating area in front of the property, listening to the sounds of the countryside as your pup scampers on the grass. A lovely spot to sit out on a summer’s evening, make the most of it by dining alfresco as the kids play in the last of the sun.

This cottage is very small the photographs dont show the small scale. The parking for 1 car is not part of the cottage and may not be available. The weather was pretty cold w/c 16th Feb and poor heating and wood for 1 fire not adequate. There is no garden but a table and chair and bench out the front. The village is picturesque and views really lovRead moreely and surrounding villages pretty. Advising no shops or eating areas within walking distance. The joined next door neighbours were very helpful. Luckily groceries bought with us. Can recommend The Duke of Cumberland Pub/Restaurant in Castle Carrock. Lovely interior, great service and the food delicious. Hide

The cottage needs a proper deep clean. While the bedding and towels were clean, the whole cottage was dusty and there were lots of cobwebs. The bathroom needs some attention. The 'welcome pack' was long life milk and a packet of cookies and saying it was decorated for Christmas was a stretch. We have stayed in the area a lot over the last few yeaRead morers to visit family and this was disappointing, mainly because it wouldn't take much effort to change but it felt like it was just a money maker. The village location and the views were lovely. Hide

Cosy cottage, well equipped, clean and comfortable to stay in, in a lovely green location, within a good distance to many point of interest. We spent a very nice week here and made lots of lovely memories exploring the nearby area.
