Rest and recharge on a relaxing holiday in this fabulous farmhouse, in the quiet north-west corner of the Lake District National Park. The spacious property accommodates 12 guests and two hairy sidekicks, making it ideal for large family get-togethers and holidays with friends. The surrounding area is idyllic and awash with interesting dog walks, around lakes and over fells. You’ll also be less than 20 miles from the sandy beaches of the Cumbrian coast. With two living areas and a games room, the farmhouse has ample socialising space and there’s also a beautiful, enclosed garden, where the woofers and children can play.
The property is full of character, with exposed beams and stonework throughout. Simple decor and furniture complement the traditional style of the farmhouse. After a day outdoors, relax in the lounge or snug, with the hounds stretched out by the wood burner, or follow the steps down to the games room to challenge your fellow guests to a game of pool or darts. Alternatively, grab your favourite book and retreat to the magnificent second-floor bathroom to soak in the fabulous free-standing bath. Outside, discover an immaculate garden that has been laid to lawn and two patios. There is also a stream, so always supervise children and the pups.
Enjoy peace and tranquillity on a trip to Loweswater Lake (9 miles). This stunning lake is surrounded by woodland, and your canine buddies will be in their element sniffing their way along the weaving track to Holme Force Waterfall. After a relaxing walk, tuck into a hearty meal at the traditional inn in the hamlet of Loweswater. At St Bees (17 miles), on the coast, you’ll find a long, sandy beach that welcomes four-pawed visitors all year. St Bees Head is also the start of the Coast-to-Coast Walk.
