Take your wee pet with you to discover the delights of southern Scotland. Tilly the terrier will adore racing about the large, enclosed garden at this cottage in Fogo, 5.5 miles from Greenlaw in the Scottish Borders. Some 15.5 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed, the two-bedroom stone holiday home sleeps four guests and makes a great retreat for hounds and humans who love exploring scenic countryside.

Dry damp paws, then enter via the porch and hall, where you can slide off walking boots and hang dog leads. Follow furry feet into the lounge, where they can toast in front of a crackling wood burner as you recline on the soft seating to watch the Smart TV or take in the views. The sunny kitchen/diner has been equipped with everything you require to help you cater for your party using your own ingredients. Gather round the table and give Tilly her meal in here too, then open the door to the garden so she can pad outside. Bid your puppy pal goodnight before climbing the stairs to the bedrooms. These include a zip-and-link super-king-size, which can be arranged as a twin if discussed at booking, and a zip-and-link twin, which can be made up as a king-size. The family bathroom is also here. Spill out into the fabulous garden to throw a ball for Tilly on the expansive lawn. Cook on the BBQ and relax on the patio with a glass of something chilled as you gaze out at the scenery. There is off-road parking for two cars.

Visit exquisite Paxton House, 11 miles away, where Tilly is welcome to wander the gorgeous grounds with you. Plan a day out to the coast. The beach at St Abbs, 18 miles away, is dog friendly at any time of year.

A very comfortable and well equiped cottage. Well off the beaten track and so extremely quiet and peaceful. Good secure garden enjoyed by our small dog. Have stayed in 38 UK cottages and this is up there with the best.

This is a very well thought out holiday let. with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog Cooper to play in. It is in a quiet location but easy access to Duns. Everything about the property is pristine and well cared for. It is probably the best holiday let we have ever rented.
