Just a few miles from Robin Hood’s Bay via the Cleveland Way footpath, this spacious two-storey cottage offers a coastal sanctuary for five people and two dogs. Within easy reach of the market towns and villages that are planted across the edge of The North York Moors National Park, it is an ideal base for walkers, cyclists and natural history lovers who want to experience the best this stretch of the Yorkshire coast has to offer. Well appointed with a homely feel throughout, each of the cottage’s three bedrooms enjoy sea views, while its enclosed patio and lawn garden offer plenty of sniffing opportunities for the dogs.
The lounge provides a comfortable place to snooze during the day or come together for drinks in the evening, with the adjacent dining room the ideal place for planning your next adventure or enjoying a hearty meal while expectant hounds rest their chins upon your lap. On the first floor, the king-size, twin and single bedrooms all enjoy views of the North Sea, with a bathroom nearby. A gated garden at the front of the cottage is complemented by a pretty enclosed garden to the rear, a lovely spot for al fresco dining on the patio and games of “doggy in the middle” on the lawn.
The secluded Stoupe Beck Sands (3 miles) welcome dogs all year round, as does the beach at Robin Hood’s Bay (11 miles), also home to canine-considerate eateries and pubs throughout its cobblestone streets. Further up the coast, Whitby, 14 miles, offers an array of pubs, shops and cafes in and around its harbour, alongside the ruins of its iconic abbey and numerous piers. Walkers and cyclists will find the Cleveland Way, England Coastal Path, Lyke Wake Walk and “The Cinder Track'''' nearby, while Scarborough (10.5 miles) offers two- and four-legged visitors plenty to see and do by the seaside.
