We enjoyed our stay! It was a perfect location for visiting National Trust sights and still provided a quiet place to relax at the end of the day.

The Stables are in a lovely rural location but that does mean the access is down a narrow road which became pretty churned up and muddy in the wet weather we experienced. An ideal location to get away from it all and a great spot easy for access to all that the area has to offer, especially the numerous National Trust places. We enjoyed watching tRead morehe resident pair of kestrels on the dead tree visible from the lounge area and saw a raven on an early morning walk. The garden is secure for dogs. The neighbour was very friendly and kept us up to date with water issues that could affect us whilst we were there and meant that we needed to boil the water. We would return, although possibly in Spring or Autumn with longer days to enjoy the garden more. Thank you for the lovely basket of goodies - much appreciated. Hide

A great location. The village is only a short walk away (30 minutes or so) yet the property feels wonderfully remote. For city dwellers like myself, the darkness and silence at night is incredibly relaxing. It has immediate access to paths across fields, allowing guests to fully enjoy the countryside.

A lovely cottage, well appointed and equipped. We spent a very relaxing week there. The owner was friendly and helpful as were the nearest neighbours.

Absolutely wonderful, as always! This was our third visit and we love it at The Stables even more every time. The house is always immaculate when we arrive, we look forward to the delicious welcome basket especially the Higham Farm apple juice, and you really can't beat such an idyllic location! This time around we even met the lovely owner and werRead moree blown away by how sweet she was to hand deliver my husband's birthday card which had been delivered to the farm in error. 1000/10, we will be back! An excellent stay and a lot of space for 6 grown-ups - a lovely space. Fantastic views and very peaceful. Everyone loved it. Lots of National Trust places to visit and pretty little towns and villages. One of the best cottages with a splendid well thought out basket of goodies on arrival. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay. We didnt feel comfortable driving down the single track approach road, but did not actually meet anything. A couple of times a car turned into the road as we were exiting it so other traffic did use that way.
