Roam picturesque valleys, dramatic moors and beautiful beaches with your four-pawed pal. This two-bedroom lodge at Harrowbarrow, 7 miles from Tavistock, is a perfect choice for those with pups. Sleeping four guests, the single-storey retreat enjoys scenic countryside views and has a lawned garden for bounding about in the sunshine.

Climb three steps up to the wooden deck with your happy hound wagging his tail behind you. Enter to find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can reward him with some of the puppy treats from the doggy welcome pack. Watch him flop down in the sunshine as you kick back on the comfortable seating. Find a film on the Smart TV or gaze out over the countryside and start thinking about what to rustle up for dinner. The kitchen, where there is a breakfast bar, has been fitted out with all the equipment you are likely to need. Feed your four-legged friend here, too, then enjoy your own delicious dinner at the table. Lead your contented canine over to the dog bed that is supplied within the lodge and wish him a good night’s sleep. Your own bedrooms, a super-king-size and a double, are just as enticing. There is a modern shower room here too. Dine out on the deck, while your chum lounges about in the fresh air. Take him onto the grass for a game of fetch. There is driveway parking for two cars.

Pick up the dog lead and stride out to explore the Tamar Valley. Plan trips to Bodmin Moor, 12 miles away, and Dartmoor, 6.5 miles away, both with magnificent dog walks. Visit the National Trust’s Cotehele, 2.5 miles away, where your happy hound can wander the large estate with you. Tregantle Beach, 18 miles away, is also great for dog walking.

A delightful, beautifully converted and well equipped cottage. Set in glorious Devon countryside with lovely views and hosts who do all they can to ensure their visitors have a super holiday. The icing on the cake for us was a secure fenced garden for our dog.

Loved our visit to Wisteria cottage, absolutely amazing property with everything you could need, and the owner was available if needed. But we had no issues during our stay. Beautiful countryside views! Our dog loved the paddock. Definitely would book again!
