Escape to the coast in this charming cottage in the Northumberland village of Beadnell. Sleeping four guests and one waggy-tailed pal, the holiday home is perfect for couples and families seeking a traditional seaside getaway. The sandy, paw-friendly shores of Beadnell Bay are less than a mile away, and you can also easily visit other Northumberland highlights including Bamburgh and Seahouses.
The single-storey cottage is decorated in a traditional style, with wooden furniture and soft furnishings. Leave sandy shoes and dog leads in the hallway before moving through to the inviting lounge. Here, you can snuggle up on the plump sofas to watch the Smart TV, whilst the pup toasts their paws by the wood burner-effect electric fire. The bright and airy kitchen/diner is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday, and there’s a wooden dining table for sharing mealtimes as a group. The cottage has two attractive bedrooms – a king-size and a twin – both with plenty of storage for all your holiday attire. A family shower room rounds off the accommodation. Outside, the enclosed garden has a large lawn for the woofer to play on, as well as a sunny patio area for al fresco dining. You’ll also have a cute summerhouse – the perfect spot for a sundowner. The property has private parking for two cars.
Beadnell Bay is a sandy, horseshoe-shaped beach that welcomes canine visitors all year. The beach has shallow water for bathing, making it a favourite with families, and is also popular with water sports enthusiasts. Heading along the coast, you’ll soon reach the colourful fishing village of Seahouses (2 miles), with its fantastic array of independent eateries and regular boat trips from the harbour. Other doggy days out include Bamburgh Castle (5.5 miles) and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (22 miles).
