Located in the laid-back coastal village of New Polzeath, this large holiday retreat is a wonderful base for families or groups of friends travelling with their dogs. With the Cornish countryside and coast both accessible within 0.5 miles, you’ll be perfectly placed for long walks and sandy adventures your pets will adore. While Polzeath Beach (0.5 miles) has some doggie restrictions in summer, Greenaway Beach (1.5 miles) is dog-friendly all year round.
At the heart of this welcoming home is a spacious kitchen and dining area where everyone can spend time together. Sit down to meals at the dining tables, positioned beneath a striking orangery-style ceiling, with gorgeous garden views through the floor-to-ceiling glass. After busy days outdoors, unwind in the cosy lounge, with plush seating and an electric fire where tired pets can warm their fur. A separate games room with table football gives younger guests – and competitive grown-ups – a place to burn some energy before bed. The ground floor has four bedrooms: a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be arranged as a twin), a king-size with en-suite, a double, and a twin room. There is also a family shower room and a utility room on this level. Upstairs are two further bedrooms: a super-king-size with a TV and views across the treetops towards the ocean, plus a bunk bedroom that’s perfect for children. A family bathroom completes the first floor. Outside, kids and dogs can play happily in the enclosed and sheltered garden, which has a generously sized lawn plus a raised sun deck for outdoor dining. A gate leads directly to a woodland footpath towards the National Trust Café and Fairy Garden at Pentireglaze (0.5 miles). You’ll have private parking for six cars.
You can join the Scenic South West Path just 350 metres away, following it along to dramatic rugged sites like Pentire Head (1.5 miles). With acres of nearby National Trust land providing excellent walking routes, there are plenty of opportunities for you and your dogs to stretch your legs in stunning surroundings. For a day out further afield, the bustling fishing port of Padstow (16 miles) is well worth a visit, known for its picturesque harbour, independent shops and excellent food.
