Located in the magical walking territory of Dorset’s AONB coastline, there’s no better place to escape with your darling doggo for an unforgettable break. This picturesque stone cottage offers a traditional place to stay in the village of Langton Herring, just 1.5 miles from the vast South West Coast Path and a little further from the mighty Chesil Beach. Let tennis balls fly with doggos in hot pursuit, enjoying the freedom of 18 miles of golden shingle on this largely dog-friendly stretch. Return home with wet paws and sandy fur, ready for a restful night in this two-person, two-dog abode.

Venture up the long, leafy driveway with private parking for two cars, a hint of the property’s undisturbed rural location. Inside, cosy cottage textures add a traditional feel throughout, especially in the welcoming lounge. With soft seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner, it’s the perfect space to put feet (and paws!) up after a day’s adventures, warming through before heading to bed. Let Rover and Fido snooze peacefully here as you head upstairs, where a king-size bedroom sits beneath charming wooden eaves and benefits from its own en-suite. Outside, a small courtyard and a large private garden are yours to enjoy, the latter being enclosed – a safe, secure space for dogs to roam.

The picturesque charm of Langton Herring is undeniable, offering a delightful base for endless Dorset countryside walks, with a pet-friendly pub on hand to welcome you after a long hike. A little way along the coast, head to Abbotsbury to visit the Subtropical Gardens (5 miles) and Abbotsbury Hillfort (5.5 miles), both welcoming dogs, before making your way to the Valley of Stones (4 miles) for a wonderful dog walk through its unique rock formations.

Hilary was very helpful and did all she could to make our stay enjoyable. The cottage was very attractive and well equipped in a beautiful environment. Everything worked as it should apart from two Velux window blinds which we understand were broken by the previous guests allowing a considerable amount of light into the bedroom. We understand that Read morethis should be fixed in the next few days. The village pub is a strong further benefit as the food is excellent and not expensive, evidenced by the fact that it was fully booked every evening we were staying. Hide
