Perched on the edge of New Polzeath, this striking beachfront lodge combines contemporary coastal style with eco-conscious living, making it a fantastic retreat for families, friends and their four-legged companions. 100 metres from the golden sands of Polzeath Beach, with year-round dog-friendly Baby Bay half a mile away, it’s a brilliant choice for seaside adventures with your faithful hound close by.
Designed with sustainability in mind, the lodge benefits from solar panels and an air source heat pump, while the clever reverse-level layout makes the most of the spectacular coastal views. On the ground floor, two beautifully presented bedrooms await: a stylish king-size room and a flexible zip-and-link twin that can also be arranged as a king-size bed. Both come complete with sleek en-suite bathrooms. Upstairs, a third en-suite bedroom provides additional flexibility with zip-and-link beds that can be set up as twins or a double. The main living area is also found on this level, where a contemporary kitchen and bright lounge-diner create a sociable setting for group stays. Large bi-fold doors open onto the balcony, letting the sea air drift inside and blending indoor and outdoor living. A second sitting room with plush seating and a Smart TV is a cosy spot, with your canine companion curled up nearby. Outside, the paved patio is set up for laid-back evenings in the fresh sea air, complete with outdoor dining furniture and a charcoal BBQ for post-beach suppers. There’s also a heated outdoor shower for rinsing sandy paws and wetsuits, along with surfboard storage and a wetsuit drying rack. Private parking is available for up to three cars.
Spend your days surfing, paddling or strolling along the shoreline. Dog walkers can join the breathtaking South West Coast Path, winding through dramatic National Trust landscapes towards Pentire Point, where panoramic sea views stretch as far as Trevose Head. Inland, the bustling town of Wadebridge (7 miles) on the banks of the River Camel is great for independent shops, waterside walks and local food spots. Bring your bike and cycle the Camel Trail from Wadebridge to Padstow with your tail-wagger springing alongside.
