This holiday hideaway boasts a prime position on the River Ant, just outside the Broads village of Smallburgh and 2 miles from the market town of Stalham. Sleeping four guests and one furry pal, the property is perfect for couples and small families. The surrounding area is a haven for dog walkers, with numerous riverside routes and long-distance trails such as the Weavers’ Way, Marriott’s Way, and Norfolk Coast Path.
The Broads retreat is part of a small complex of similar holiday homes. Inside, the property is bright and airy with contemporary furniture and beautiful artwork. The main living space is an open-plan lounge, kitchen, and diner with views across the river. To the rear of the room is a kitchen with everything you need for a self-catering getaway, and there’s a wooden dining table for enjoying meals together. After dinner, get cosy on one of the sofas in the lounge area and watch the Smart TV while Rover dozes at your feet. A refreshing bathroom completes the ground floor. Upstairs, two tranquil bedrooms – a double and a twin – await, along with a handy WC. From the lounge, French doors open onto a waterside patio with outdoor furniture. This is a great spot for fishing, and you can even moor a small boat. Guests also have shared use of a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, and gym. Private parking is available for two cars.
The picturesque village of Wroxham – known as the capital of the Broads – is 6 miles away. Here, you and the pup can join a boat trip to explore the waterways and dine in one of the pubs or restaurants overlooking the water. For a day at the coast, journey to the seaside village of Mundesley (11.5 miles).
