This seafront townhouse is in the charming village of Aberdyfi (Aberdovey), on the edge of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). The spacious property welcomes six guests and two waggy-tailed pals, and is perfect for families and friends seeking a traditional seaside getaway on Wales’s beautiful west coast. You’ll be just 0.5 miles from a gorgeous, paw-friendly beach, along with a good range of independent shops and eateries.

The holiday home boasts a prime position on Aberdyfi’s seafront, with magnificent views across the water. Inside, climb the stairs to the first floor, to discover a bright, open-plan kitchen/diner where you can prepare hearty meals for the group and share family dinnertimes around the large dining table. This room has wooden floors and ample space to set up the dog beds. In the evenings, relax in the comfortable lounge, which features an ornamental fireplace, a large bay window, a sumptuous sofa, and a Smart TV. Upstairs, three elegant bedrooms await, one of which has an en-suite shower room. A contemporary family bathroom rounds off the accommodation. Outside, via the living area, you’ll find a fabulous wrap-around balcony where you can sip a sundowner and take in the tranquil sea views. Private parking is available for one large car or two small cars.

Aberdyfi boasts a long, sandy beach that’s ideal for dog walks along the shoreline or picnics with the family. The beach is also a hot spot for water sports. There is a small, seasonal dog restriction, but the majority of the beach welcomes furry visitors all year. Alternatively, head inland to Eryri National Park for exhilarating climbs at Cadair Idris (16 miles) or Aran Fawddwy (30 miles), or explore the fascinating slate-mining village of Corris (15 miles).

Cartrefle is great! Recently updated and very, very, clean and fresh. Lots of thoughtful touches, especially for families with small children (which we weren't, but was still appreciated as our children were once little!). Nice tables for meals, tea, and work. Super well-appointed kitchen, great for cooking meals. We appreciated the beautiful WRead moreelsh slate, carved fireplace (nonworking) surround in the living room. Beautiful touch honoring the artistry and materials of the region. This was the owner's family home growing up :). Lots of stairs to climb, but good railings. Could benefit from a washer/dryer, but if you have time and plan well, there's a friendly laundry service in town. The deck is wonderful, cleverly built over the parking spot with a beautiful westward view of the estuary. Having your own parking in Aberdovey is a big bonus! Mind the road. For a gorgeous loaf of homemade Welsh bara brith, check out the cozy Cafe Medina with it's gracious hosts and excellent lunch, tea, and espresso options. We loved the less busy location of Cartrefle and the interesting little rocky beach (during low tide) across the road, and proximity to the Penhelig Arms pub. Would definitely stay again! Hide
