This delightful Georgian property enjoys a fantastic setting on the banks of the River Ewe, where you might see salmon jumping in the pools below and deer on the hills behind in colder months. From here, the island-studded west coast of Scotland is just waiting to be explored by you and your pack, but this property also puts you within easy reach of walks through glorious mountain landscapes and inland lochs, ensuring outdoor adventures for guests of all ages and abilities as well as those with four legs

This beautiful Scottish manse sits in a traditional Highland garden, surrounded by trees on three sides, with the fourth opening out to the beautiful River Ewe. Although the river itself is fenced off, the garden makes a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy the Scottish air, particularly at the end of a long day spent exploring Wester Ross. On cooler days an open fire makes the sitting room a welcoming retreat and four-pawed friends will gladly flop here, while the large kitchen/diner – which extends the full depth of the house – is the perfect place for everyone to come together. The property sleeps eight guests and one canine companion across five bedrooms, one king-size and two singles are situated handily on the ground floor along with a modern bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC.  Upstairs, there are two twins to complete the property along with a generous sized shower room with WC.

Set back from the road, close to the charming coastal village of Poolewe, you are just 0.5 miles from the local shop, cafes and village market, and 1.5 miles from picturesque Inverewe Garden, overlooking the bay. Poolewe is the start of some great walks into the surrounding countryside, taking you inland past Loch Kernsary to beautiful Loch Maree. Elevated escapades also await intrepid adventurers, with the peaks of Slioch (981m), An Teallach (1062m) and Sgurr Mor (1,109m) all within a 25-mile radius as the crow flies.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful and peaceful location. The ghillie, Raymond, is very friendly and always happy to help if you have any questions. However, if you're planning to fish in the river next to the cottage, I'd strongly recommend checking in advance whether fishing is actually available during your stay. Unfortunately, we were unable toRead more fish the river during our visit, which was disappointing as we had expected this to be possible. Fishing access is often included with similar cottage rentals, but that was not the case here. If fishing is available during your stay, be aware that it's quite expensive at 250 per rod per day. That said, aside from the fishing issue, we had a very enjoyable holiday and the cottage itself was comfortable, well-maintained, and situated in a stunning setting. Hide
