Relax in style at this delightful holiday home in the lively market town of Morpeth. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and welcoming one canine companion, it’s perfect for families or groups of friends seeking a stylish retreat to call home while they discover the stunning Northumberland countryside with their pup by their side. During the day, take a leisurely, dog-friendly stroll along the Wansbeck River Trail, and in the evening, come home to your cottage’s garden to share a fun al fresco dinner.

Step inside this glamorous, reverse-level cottage. Head upstairs and you’ll find a welcoming open-plan kitchen and dining area and an elegant lounge with a soft, neutral colour palette, cosy textured furnishings, and a stylish wood burner. When it’s time to eat, use the sleek kitchen to whip up some dinner. Gather everyone around the dining table or head out into the serene patio garden to share a casual al fresco meal. Afterwards, head back to the lounge to enjoy a glass of something cool and crisp by the crackling wood burner while your pup sleeps at your feet. At the end of the day, make your way to the ground floor where you’ll find a stylish king-size bedroom and an adorable twin room. Completing the layout is a chic family bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower. A private parking space is provided 200 metres from the cottage.

Nearby Carlisle Park (0.5 miles) is a great spot for walkies, and you can even take your pup on a rowing boat there. Alternatively, set off for the fishing port of Amble (16.5 miles), where your dog can splash freely on Amble Links Beach. Afterwards, stop off for refreshments at one of the dog-friendly pubs.

Children are welcome at Oldgate Cottage; however, the property does not provide children’s equipment such as a highchair or travel cot. Guests are welcome to bring their own if required. Please note that the stairs are wide and steep; therefore, a stair gate cannot be fitted, and the main living area is located upstairs. For this reason, children should be supervised at all times when using the stairs and moving around the property.

This cottage is beautiful. Very well kept and has everything you need. Very well equipped. Its location is fab, right in the heart of Morpeth near shops and restaurants. So no need to drive anywhere of an evening. Lots of choice very close by. Mandy left some tasty welcome gifts too, which was a nice personal touch. Also very helpful and quick to Read morerespond if there's any issues. Have been recommending the cottage to everybody since we got back. We loved it! Hide

Oldgate Cottage is that rare holiday let find, the one you cannot find fault with. Mandy and Andy have clearly put so much thought into the design of the cottage and the quality is palpable as soon as you walk through the front door. They have thought of every single creature comfort imaginable and added those too. I genuinely cannot find fault orRead more even think of a single suggestion to improve future guests experience. The beds and sofas were incredibly comfortable, the water pressure in the shower is epic, the welcome hamper outstanding (wow, what a cake!) and there was not a spec of dust to be found anywhere. The photos do not do any of it justice, including those of the private outside seating area. Our business is managing holiday lets on behalf of their owners and I can honestly say that the standard of cleanliness, presentation and comfort of Oldgate Cottage is the highest we have ever experienced on holiday. Oldgate Cottage is a beautiful property. It is clean, well-equipped, comfortable and even luxurious. The sitting room is very cosy with recliner sofas and very stylish throws. The kitchen is well equipped with new, easy to use appliances. There is even a milk frother! The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and the beds are very comfortable. TherRead moree was also plenty of literature to help enjoy the time spent in Northumberland. The cottage is right in the centre of town and close to plenty of shops and restaurants. The owner was extremely helpful during our stay and also provided a parking permit so that the parking spaces outside the cottage could be used. All in all, Oldgate Cottage was a delightful place to stay for a few days. Hide

Truly a hidden gem! Right in the heart of Morpeth. Everything you want from a holiday cottage. Well equipped and furnished beautifully. Photos do not do it justice. If you are considering it just book it you will not be disappointed

Oldgate Cottage was the perfect place we could have chosen to stay for our holiday. It was immaculately clean, very cosy and homely and Andy and Mandy have literally thought of everything you could need/want in terms of amenities. Morpeth was the perfect base to explore the coast. We highly recommend staying here!
