Overlooking the breathtaking countryside of the Deveron Valley, this traditional farmhouse has been imaginatively updated to provide a fantastic holiday retreat for eight human and two canine guests. Perfectly situated for dogs and their owners keen to discover the stunning Aberdeenshire surroundings, the tastefully furnished property features an extensive garden for your pets to run around, and a cosy wood burner for them to unwind in front of at the end of a great day. Lying at the end of a long track leading to Fourman Hill, this characterful holiday home is ideal for walkers, hikers, cyclists, nature lovers and four-pawed explorers discovering the region’s magnificent landscapes.

A few stone steps lead up to the porch, then through into the peaceful lounge. With a roaring wood burner, a Smart TV, ample seating and windows offering far-reaching views, this is a perfect space for you to unwind in. The colourful kitchen has a central island, plenty of equipment and a range oven alongside a lovely breakfast table. The main dining table can be found in the stunning formal dining room. Upstairs, you will have a choice between four delightful bedrooms: two doubles and two twins, each decorated in tasteful shades, with low sloping ceilings. The accommodation also features a refreshing bathroom and an invigorating shower room. Stepping outside, the generous enclosed garden is a beautiful space for your pets to roam around as you dine alfresco and take in the magnificent views. Private parking is available for two cars.

The farmhouse sits within the glorious Avochie Estate, occupying 1,500 acres of beautiful farmland, woodland and pasture, which you can explore with your pups. There’s fishing available along the tranquil River Deveron, and chances to spot wildlife including roe deer, game birds and ospreys. Huntly (6 miles) has lovely dog-friendly pubs.

The cottage is lovely and very remote, but we enjoyed that. Unfortunately we had a power cut during a major storm (the power had gone down to thousands of homes) and the owners immediately relocated us to another cottage on the estate, which was lovely. We really appreciated their support during a stressful time with a power outage and 3 young chilRead moredren. However, Holiday Cottages were not supportive at all and said they couldn't help us so I would highly recommend Avochie Estate but book direct! Hide

Absolutely loved our stay. The only regret we had was that we wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms and decor are amazing. Loved being surrounded by nature. Felt peaceful and it was a lovely getaway with my friends.

We had a lovely stay at Auchinbo. The house is well equipped and the beds very comfortable.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. It is a bit remote but that wasnt a problem and meant we had access to walks from the door. Just be aware that the garden is not enclosed as stated in the description, theres a fence all round but no gates on the drive to make it enclosed.
