There’s no shortage of wonderful walks in the charming fishing town of Amble, which boasts a harbour filled with colourful beach huts and plenty of salty smells for your pup to enjoy. From the doorstep, take the lead to stroll along the promenade to Amble Harbour Village, half a mile away, where you’ll find a weekly market showcasing some fetching local produce. From Amble Harbour, hop aboard a boat trip with your pup to spot the 36,000-bird colony nesting on Coquet Island, an RSPB seabird sanctuary a mile off the coast. Practise the doggy paddle at the golden sands of Amble Links Beach, a mile away, which enjoys a lovely outlook to Coquet Island.
