The ulti-mutt retreat for families, friends and four-legged pals, this spacious retreat is designed for sociable, relaxing stays. Coastal walks and long runs on glorious beaches will be followed by evenings in the huge garden or beside the cosy wood burner.
Hang coats and leads in the hall or the boot room and stroll through to the kitchen/diner, where you can set dog beds and bowls on the floor and throw open the doors to the safely enclosed garden. The cook will appreciate the electric range cooker and American-style fridge/freezer, and you can all dine together at the farmhouse-style table. Linger afterwards, making the most of the soft seating and Smart TV, or choose from the inviting lounge, where there’s a wood burner, or the cosy snug, both of which also feature Smart TVs. Kiss your hounds goodnight and head upstairs to find four comfortable bedrooms. Two king-size rooms each have a Smart TV and en-suite shower, while two twins (one has zip-and-link beds to create a super-king-size on request) share a handsome family bathroom. The enclosed rear garden is another fabulous bonus. As well as a large lawn (two steps up), there’s a patio where you can dine alfresco, a children’s play area, a summerhouse and a shed that provides secure storage for bikes and outdoor gear. Private parking for three cars completes this superlative escape.
Located on the edge of the Northumberland Coast National Landscape, the house is just 4 miles from Embleton Bay, a superb, dog-friendly beach with a huge stretch of golden sand overlooked by the majestic Dunstanburgh Castle. Explore the coastal path, try some famous seafood in Craster, 4 miles, or head to Warkworth, 9.5 miles, for another fabulous beach and an exciting walk (on the lead) around the 13th century castle.
