This luxurious cottage in Warkworth enjoys an enviable location right by the River Coquet, making it a brilliant base for dog owners who love gentle strolls, good food and relaxed days out. You’ll have pubs, cafes, restaurants and handy local shops all within easy reach. With space for four humans and two canine guests, it’s ideal for small family groups and couples.

Inside, this classy cottage blends traditional and modern themes for a stylish finish. The lounge has plenty of inviting seating and a glowing wood burner where dogs can curl up to doze after a day of adventure. Relax together in the stylish kitchen/diner, a bright and welcoming social space with a calming palette and a full wall of windows and glass doors – perfect for keeping an eye on the dogs as they wander in and out. A circular glass-topped dinner table sets you up for leisurely meals prepared in the modern kitchen. There’s a convenient ground-floor WC too. Upstairs are two beautifully presented bedrooms: a super-king-size room overlooking the river with its own en-suite shower, and a king-size room with an en-suite bathroom (including a shower over the bath). Outside, sip your first coffee of the day on the front gravelled area, complete with a morning sun bench. There’s also a sunny rear patio with a table and chairs for relaxed al fresco evenings. Dogs will enjoy snuffling around in either outdoor space. Parking is on the quiet roadside at the front, subject to availability.

When it’s time to explore, Warkworth’s sandy beach – which is also completely dog-friendly – is a 1-mile walk away, making it ideal for morning walkies with sea breezes and wagging tails. Head to the harbour town of Amble (2 miles), where wildlife lovers can join puffin-spotting boat trips. Well, we have stayed in many of the Coquet Cottages over the past 18 years, they all wonderful but Honeybee Cottage for us us by far the best. The location is amazing right on the River front, waking up to the view was amazing and the bird life outstanding. The interior of the property is amazing, very stylish, very comfortable and just everything Read moreyou could wish for, for us it is home from home. We lit the wood burning stove every night during our stay, so cosy and warm. Our 2 whippets Bill and Ben just loved it too. There was a wonderful hamper for us and the dogs, such lovely treats for All, a lovely Easter Egg and beautiful flowers also awaited us. Thank you All to the Coquet Team for everything, we cannot wait to visit again in the not too distant future, my favourite UK destination. Hide
