"Loved the cottage, waking up in the morning to views of the river, wildlife in the garden, peace, perfect peace. Just don't expect an immaculate home if you go, it's old, it's quirky, nothing is straight and please mind your head". - Judith Telford

Settled in a secluded country lane within the scenic Suffolk countryside, this characterful cottage makes for a spectacular retreat for families or small groups. For a taste of olde-worlde magic, this property is lovingly fitted with cosy furnishings for a comfortable getaway with your canine companions. With plenty of wildlife-spotting walks right on your doorstep, there’s a different adventure to be had every day.

Step inside this rustic cottage and soak up its traditional charm and original features. Exposed wooden beams, low ceilings and cosy social spaces are perfect for cuddling up with your two-legged and four-legged friends. At the end of a busy day exploring, wind down on comfortable sofas in front of a roaring open fire where pooches can stretch out and warm their paws. Equipped with everything you need for delicious family feasts, the farmhouse kitchen offers a great deal of space to raise a glass or two before heading to the dining table to devour your homemade eats. When tummies are nicely filled, withdraw upstairs to be greeted with two airy double rooms and a single room, perfect for laying tired heads. Completing the property is an extensive and manicured lawned garden and sheltered patio area – brilliant for letting the pooches run off some of that energy during the day.

Sniff out new pathways and walks from your holiday cottage. Wander along the nearby riverbank with your canines by your side or venture into the more traditional Suffolk village of Waldringfield which is 2.5 miles from the cottage and offers up a dog-welcoming pub lunch. To adventure further afield, go to the town of Woodbridge to browse the selection of independent wares or relive the history of the area in the numerous museums on offer.

This is a unique location and a very special cottage which has a wonderful garden and is located virtually in the River Deben. It is an old cottage with great charm.

Quirky, traditional Suffolk cottage with no near neighbours (except local wild- and water-life). If you are a bit taller be prepared to 'duck or grouse' in parts of the property - but overall comfortable with all the 'essentials'.

A wonderful setting in an unspoilt Suffolk cottage. It has huge charm and character. We will be going back of course!

Beautiful property in an amazing tranquil location. The property has everything you could need and was like stepping back in time! The kids loved having an open fire every evening. Very quirky, uneven floors everywhere but a lot of love and history in the building. Great walks on the doorstepour goldies had an amazing time exploring and not far in Read morethe car to great beaches if you dont want to walk along the river. Some fantastic local pubs within half hour walk as well! Super comfy beds and the owner was so lovely when the range in the kitchen stopped working (it did not affect our stay but I would have loved to have done more cooking on it!) Hide

Eelsfoot is quirky. It is NOT designed for anyone over 6ft like all good cottages. It is very dated but has all things you need. I personally would not stop there again due to my height but its location is just Devine.
