Or take a day to discover the region’s dog-friendly beaches, with golden sands at Dornoch, Portmahomack, Shandwick and Fortrose (all within 22 miles), where seals, dolphins and plenty of seabirds are often spotted. The charming town of Dornoch (22.5 miles) is a lovely place to browse, grab lunch, or enjoy a stroll with your canine companion.
