Perched above the beach in Porth near Newquay, this light-filled home is a dream base for coastal adventures with both two- and four-pawed family or friends. With fabulous seaside views and the South West Coast Path practically on your doorstep, your faithful hound will be in heaven, whether it’s a sunrise stroll along the sands or a cliff-top ramble with the wind in their ears.
Inside, the hallway leads to a cosy lounge where you can curl up after salty days on the beach – the ideal spot for stretching out while your furry friend snoozes at your feet. The dining room is a real showstopper, boasting far-reaching sea views, while the well-equipped kitchen makes it easy to rustle up quick breakfasts or hearty family feasts. A handy ground-floor cloakroom keeps leads and wellies organised. Upstairs, the house is designed with flexibility in mind. There’s a family room with a king-size bed and a single bed, three double bedrooms, and a zip-and-link super-king-size bedroom that can be arranged as a twin on request. Four of the bedrooms feature their own en-suite shower rooms, while a family shower room ensures no one’s kept waiting after beach walks and coast path treks. Out front, a seating area invites you to relax with a glass of something cold while soaking up spectacular sunsets over the beach, with your loyal pup watching the world go by. Private parking for up to four cars is provided.
Start your day with coffee in a seaside cafe or wander to one of Porth’s friendly pubs, many of which welcome canine companions. Porth Beach has a seasonal dog restriction (15 May to 30 September, 10am to 6pm), so during these times, head 3 miles to Fistral Beach, where the humans can take on the surf while your sandy sniffer enjoys a scamper across the golden dunes. With Newquay’s lively mix of pet-positive cafes, pubs and shops on hand, you and Fido will feel welcomed wherever you go.
