Groups of up to six people and two furry friends are welcome at this handsome barn conversion on the outskirts of Exmoor. Enjoy rambles from the door and explore quaint market towns, and if your pups still feel energetic you can run them in the nearby exercise field.
This beautifully restored barn combines contemporary comfort with striking original features. Take the steps down from the parking area and enter the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, an impressive space with a high ceiling, slate floor, Smart TV and eye-catching wood burner - plus incredible views of rolling countryside as far as the eye can see. The Shaker-style painted kitchen includes a microwave, dishwasher and drinks fridge, and you’ll dine at the handsome table in the centre of the room, positioned to maximise those stunning views. Off the kitchen, the utility/boot room is a handy space for storing outerwear and dog towels. Overlooking the lounge and dining areas, a mezzanine (with low, sloping ceiling) includes a double sofa bed for two additional children. When bedtime beckons, kiss your mutts goodnight and take three steps up to find all three en-suite bedrooms, each with zip-and-link beds for maximum versatility. For a choice of where to enjoy the fresh Somerset air or its fabulously dark night skies, French doors on each side of the barn open to either a furnished deck or a gravelled garden where there are loungers and seating below a pergola. Dogs can enjoy the exercise field (on a lead if livestock are nearby), and you’ll have parking for three cars.
Roam the trails of the Exmoor National Park, just 2 miles, or head into Dulverton, 2.5 miles, for enticing shops and places to eat and drink. At Wimbleball Lake, 9 miles, there are yet more fabulous walks around the 530-acre site.
