Up to four guests and two canine companions can stay in this airy and sophisticated apartment with a garden and an open-plan living space. Set tails wagging on an adventure in North Cumbria, where you’ll benefit from nearby town amenities, coastline and the majestic Lake District National Park.

Enter this two-storey apartment through a hallway shared with neighbouring properties. Once inside, you’ll find a stylish open-plan lounge/diner on the first floor – with natural light pouring through the sash windows. Art-deco style finishings with tones of green, blue and gold throughout create an elegant and comfortable space. Two double sofas and an armchair sit around a feature fireplace with blue tiles inside. Opposite is a round dining table for four beneath a low-hanging contemporary light. Continue into the bright, neutral-toned kitchen to find a ‘U’-shaped fitted unit with modern appliances and a washing machine. Return downstairs to reach the family bathroom and two bedrooms– a king-size and a bunk bedroom. Outside is a garden that is shared with neighbouring properties. There’s private parking for two cars.

Get to know the town of Cockermouth (500 metres) by wandering along the river that flows through the centre past the National Trust Wordsworth House, a handful of art galleries and dog-welcoming pubs. Go mutts with your four-legged friends in the Lake District National Park. Here, you could spend some time at Scale Force Waterfall (9.5 miles), visit Bassenthwaite Lake (6.5 miles) or climb the 931m-high Skiddaw mountain (12 miles). The Solway Coast National Landscape is only 8 miles away if Fido fancies a splash at the dog-friendly beach in Crosscanonby Carr Nature Reserve (9.5 miles).

Great location, very comfortable, added bonus of having car parking and being close to dog walking areas by the river. Nice view of the castle.

An excellent property which has been done up to a very high standard. One of the nicest cottages we have had the pleasure of staying in. We were able to explore the Lake District from this location.
