This beautifully converted chapel is in a sleepy hamlet with breathtaking scenery, fabulous walking trails and near charming country pubs. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of regular life, this is a peaceful escape in a picture-perfect location where you can relax in comfortable and quirky surroundings. Indoors, you have a wood burner to keep you warm and outside, a hot tub with an exquisite vista to do the same. You can take your beloved hounds pretty much everywhere in this dog-friendly county, and most places offer water bowls and dog treats to four-legged tourists.

You will be forgiven for standing at the top of the chapel staircase awhile, taking in the impressive stained glassed windows below. The original features in the house combine well with the contemporary additions, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. In colder months, fire up the wood burner to toast toes and paws, while the kitchen is a bright space with all you need to feed your tribe at any time of year. The bedrooms are full of character and comfort and there is a conservatory with breathtaking views of distant hills. Outside, the garden is mature and pretty, with dreamy, pastureland views from the hot tub and ample shade to sit with a hot and happy hounds at your feet.

The hamlet of Duntish borders Buckland Newton and is just a field away from the shop and village pub. The vibrant towns of Dorchester and Sherborne are both less than 10 miles away, with a delightful array of boutiques, antiques, restaurants, and pubs with live music. The coast is 20 miles away at Abbotsbury, and the beaches and clifftops offer huge scope for ball games, chasing waves and long, coastal off-lead walks.

This was our 4th holiday cottage with this website. The other 3 have been fabulous, but sadly this property was a disappointment. It was not very clean on arrival. Cobwebs on window sills, black deposits on bed spread and white pet hairs on the sofa throws. We all found the mattresses uncomfortable. All other cottages have had a basic firsRead moret aid kit. This had none. The fridge was far too small for 4/5 people. The kitchen was ill equipped. The wifi was so poor, that even after phoning to complain, it was not fixed and so in order to watch films and use our phones, we spent 40 on a signal booster. We had a dangerous moment with a broken lampshade that started smoking when touching the bulb. A fire hazard that was caught before it was a problem. This shouldnt have happened. Waste bins were right behind the hot tub, which was not ideal in hot weather. We will not be returning. We do not feel this property lived up to the wonderful standards of previous ones we have enjoyed. Hide

The property is clean but the kitchen is small. Its is centrally placed that regardless of where you wish to visit you are roughly 40 minutes away. Parking that is allocated for 1 car is fine and you can park across the road if you have a 2nd car.

A comfortable cottage in a great location for visiting West Dorset. The hot tub with the views of the Dorset countryside is something special

Wonderful location and setting. No control of the heating or hot water, which is controlled remotely by the owner. No outside light for the back garden, which was a problem with our dog. We bought a battery lantern for this issue. Enjoyed our stay very relaxing. Wonderful walks for our dog, fields for miles. Breathtaking and beautiful. Fantastic unique place. Great location for exploring. Well equipped and the hot tub was great. Would recommend the Gaggle of Geese in the next village, easy 25 mins walk across a couple of fields and through the village even in the dark. Would definitely stay again.

The cottage was lovely, spacious and full of character. The kids loved the hot tub! The local pub, the Gaggle of Geese was excellent. It had good food and a massive garden with loads to do for kids. It was walkable across fields which can be accessed just yards from the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely. cottage but location close to road results in a fair bit of road noise lots of thought has gone into provision of equipment, games and there was a lovely hamper on arrival but property wasnt as clean as we would have liked. No wifi during our stay was disappointing.
