Get the whole gang together to celebrate a special occasion at this pretty double-fronted stone cottage in the picturesque village of Ulpha. Sleeping eight people across five bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, this is a perfect accommodation choice for large families or groups of friends in search of a stylish cottage to call home while they explore the Cumbrian countryside with their dogs in tow. Take your pups for walkies at Great Worm Crag, where you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Lake District. In the evening, unwind with a glass of wine in the cottage's quaint summerhouse while your pups play in the large garden.
Park in your private parking spot (there's room for two cars) and make your way to this gorgeous three-storey stone-built cottage. Step inside and you'll find a characterful lounge with charmingly rustic decor complemented by low ceilings and a wood burner. When it's time to eat, head to the country-style kitchen/diner area to whip up your favourite dishes. Share a delicious meal together at the large dining table, and then head out to the lovely summerhouse to enjoy a glass of wine while your pups run free in the fully enclosed garden. Remember to keep an eye on them, as there is a pond at the back of the grounds. Afterwards, retire to the lounge to warm your toes by the crackling wood burner while your pups sleep at your feet. At the end of the day, head upstairs and you'll discover four elegant bedrooms - two doubles (one with an en-suite), a twin with an en-suite, and a delightful king-size. Halfway up the stairs, a half-landing reveals a handy third shower room with a rainfall shower. Continue up to the bright attic, where a low, sloping ceiling and original beams create a cosy setting for the final double bedroom. There's also a snug with casual seating and TV - a great spot if the younger members of your group want their own space.
Kick off your day with walkies over Dunnerdale Fells (1.5 miles) to High Wallabarrow Farm (2.5 miles), a peaceful retreat surrounded by meadows, woodland, and footpaths that lead straight to the banks of the River Duddon. Later in the afternoon, head to Broughton-in-Furness (4.5 miles) and find a dog-friendly pub where you can enjoy dinner.
