Pick up the dog lead and head off to explore the shared, scenic 4-acre grounds at this Norfolk lodge. Sleeping four guests, the enticing, one-bedroom retreat nestles in gorgeous surroundings at Baconsthorpe, 3.5 miles from Holt. Visit pup-friendly country estates and dog-welcoming beaches, then return to relax together in the charming garden space beside your holiday hideaway.

Climb up five steps to enter this enchanting solar-powered getaway. Step inside the tastefully decorated and creatively designed, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has a barrel ceiling. Light the wood burner to warm toes and paws as you unwind in a comfortable chair in front of the Smart TV. Prepare delicious dishes in the compact kitchen or head outside to picnic in the sunshine on bright days. Your shower room is at one end of the lodge, and your sleeping quarters are at the other. These are effectively one bedroom divided into two cosy spaces, a lower-level twin area and a double bed, accessed by a ladder. Enjoy morning coffee outside in the fresh air while your four-pawed pal waits patiently for his first walk of the day. Bask beside a glowing fire pit on clear, starry evenings. There is private parking here for two cars.

Head 3.5 miles from the lodge to wander the verdant expanses of Holt Country Park together. The National Trust’s dog-friendly Blickling Hall, with its acres of exquisite parkland to explore, is just 8.5 miles away. Venture 7 miles up to the coast at Salthouse, where dogs are welcome on the beach at any time of year, and you can pick up the long-distance Norfolk Coast Path to head out together in either direction.

We loved this place. Super location if you like peace and quiet, stargazing, wildlife and something unique. The accommodation, beds and facilities exceeded our expectations. Very conveniently located and more than enough to do for anyone within a short drive in all directions. Had a wonderful time at Brown Hare Lodge as a short getaway for my Husbands birthday. Despite arriving in the dark during storm Claudia, our welcome was warm with lovely treats, lights and heating on and everything we needed for a comfortable weekend away. The cleanliness, decoration and attention to detail was 1st class. The location was beautifulRead morely remote but within a few minutes driving distance of Holt. It was lovely to meet the owner and we wish him well with his venture. Would definitely recommend a stay here and would love to return in the summer months when the outdoor space can be appreciated too. Thank you Hide

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay with Sue and Nigel in Brown Hare Lodge. We received a lovely warm welcome and Sue and Nigel made sure we had everything we needed for a great week away. The lodge is extremely comfortable and really well equipped. We enjoyed evenings in the garden star gazing.
