This former village bakery lying at the heart of Kingsand and Cawsand is brimming with original features that’ll set tails wagging; a quirky, cosy retreat perfect for families and groups of friends keen to uncover the beauty of Cornwall with their canine companions.
Wipe sandy paws in the entrance porch before heading into the first lounge that’s bursting with rustic charm; exposed stonework and ceiling beams echo the cottage’s rich history. Your pup won’t be able to resist snoozing beside the wood burner in the adjoining second lounge (wood is not provided, guests can purchase locally). Lead the way to the contemporary country cottage style, well equipped kitchen complete with original bread oven, open plan with the dining area with ample space for family meals with Velux windows above you. Across the first and second floor, you’ll find five bedrooms, one en-suite double, one double, one triple (one double and single bed), and two singles, all sharing the same charm as the ground floor. One is accessed by a open thread spiral staircase from the cinema room, the other rooms via a staircase from the lounge. From the first-floor single bedroom, three steps lead out onto the enclosed, decked roof terrace, a delightful spot for a morning coffee or sundowner in the evenings. Parking can be found in the nearby public car park.
This scenic spot in the twin fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand is perfectly placed for exploring the idyllic coastline and countryside of Cornwall. Sniff around the rock pools at the sand and shingle Cawsand Beach, less than half a mile away (seasonal restrictions apply) or find plenty of sticks to fetch along the Rame Peninsula (1 mile) via the magnificent South West Coast Path, which boasts breathtaking coastal vistas. From Kingsand (0.5 miles), walk up onto Maker Heights to be rewarded with stunning views out across Plymouth Sound and plenty of exciting new smells for your pup to enjoy.
