Just 2 miles away, Cartmel village is centred around a delightful square and overlooked by a huge Norman priory – enjoy scenic strolls between boutique shops and a fine choice of inns and eateries or visit Cartmel Racecourse, which welcomes well-behaved dogs on leads. We arrived at the property and met the neighbours who were very friendly. Location is great but the road is very busy as theres a haven site further down the road. The pub is very nice and the local shop stocks most things.Parking isnt a problem as long as you follow the rules, we had two big cars. Minutes away from the sea over the hill across theRead more road. The upside down house worked for us but if youre not good on your feet could be problematic. Hide

The cottage is excellent. Very well presented and has everything that is needed plus it is in a great location. The property's lounge/kitchen/diner is on the 3rd floor which is great. A small balcony from the lounge provides an ideal spot to watch the world go by! There is so much to do and see in the locality and the access to the lakes WindermeRead morere and Coniston is brilliant. The Village of Cark has a good local shop 2 pubs within walking distance and many good walks. The circular walk to the mouth of the estuary is very pleasant and local villages/towns are easily accessible by rail with the local station just 3 mins walk from the property. A quirky but delightful property in a good location with caring owners all provide for a brilliant holiday base. Hide
