This stylish holiday home boasts an idyllic countryside setting in the quaint Devon hamlet of Trimstone. The property, which welcomes eight guests and two furry pals, is just 3 miles from North Devon’s rugged coast and sandy beaches, making it a fantastic base for adventure-loving families and friends. After an action-packed day at the beach, enjoy al fresco suppers on the patio and admire the stunning views across the fields.
The rural retreat is bathed in natural light, with an array of large windows framing far-reaching countryside views. From outside, a few steps take you to the entrance porch, where you can store all your dog-walking gear, before leading through to the ground-floor double bedroom with its own, en-suite shower room. A few more steps from the porch area lead to the spacious lounge/diner, featuring gorgeous wooden floors, contemporary furniture, and fabulous bi-fold doors looking out onto open fields. In winter months, fire up the wood burner to create a cosy spot for you and the hounds to snuggle up, or in summer throw open the bi-fold doors to the patio for indoor/outdoor living. Enjoy movie nights around the Smart TV or gather at the dining table for memorable mealtimes with the group. The separate kitchen boasts sleek units, an informal breakfast table, and all the equipment needed for a successful self-catering getaway. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms – a double and a bunk bedroom that’s ideal for children – and an indulgent family bathroom. The remaining bedroom is a delightful king-size with an en-suite shower room, and is reached via a spiral staircase from the first floor. Outside, the large patio is the ideal place for al fresco dining on a summer’s evening. Beyond the raised patio is an enclosed, leafy garden with lawned areas and ample space for the hounds to play. The property has private parking.
Head out of the house and journey for 3 miles along the country roads to the coastal resort of Woolacombe. Here, you’ll find a fantastic choice of paw-friendly pubs and cafes, as well as traditional seaside shops to potter around. The sandy beach has a vast section that welcomes woofers all year, and is also a popular spot for keen surfers and water sports enthusiasts. The South West Coast Path passes through Woolacombe and you can follow it for 8 miles to the harbour town of Ilfracombe, known for its fabulous art scene and high-end restaurants.
