For a day at the seaside, the paw-friendly resort of Felixstowe is 21 miles away.

This picture-postcard cottage is bursting with character and period features, and is decorated and furnished in a style to complement the property’s rich history. To the rear of the room, nestled next to the window, is a wooden dining table for sharing mealtimes together. Just off the lounge/diner is a country-style kitchen for whipping up delicious feasts using fresh, local ingredients. A family bathroom completes the ground floor. Upstairs, two fabulous bedrooms await – a king-size and a double - both with calming decor and sumptuous linens for a restful night’s sleep. Please note, due to the period of the property, you may experience restricted head height in some areas. Outside, discover a tranquil, cottage garden with a choice of seating areas, as well as a BBQ, pizza oven, and firepit for al fresco dining. The garden is fully enclosed for your canine chums. There is a public car park 300 metres from the cottage.

Head out of your front door to explore the photogenic village of Dedham, with its fabulous Georgian architecture and timber-framed buildings. The cute high street is lined with independent shops, many of which welcome waggy-tailed visitors, and you’ll find several cosy pubs and tearooms within the village. For history enthusiasts, a trip to the Anglo-Saxon burial site of Sutton Hoo (24.5 miles) is a must. Such a gorgeous cottage, full of history and beams. The garden is small, but the view is stunning, especially at 6am with the sun shining through the trees and the odd rabbit or deer, overlooking a pond and surrounded by trees. You have to park in car park, but distance wasnt that far. Take the beautiful scenic route through Dedham Hall entrance, pRead moreast the pond to car park, its quicker, with possible off lead area for your dog and comes out at the back of car park. Restaurants are all dog friendly. Explore the amazing fields across to Flatford/East Bergholt. Childrens playground and dog friendly green off the Royal Square. Remember to visit the Munnings art museum - beautiful art and lovely tea room in beautiful setting. I love Dedham and would certainly recommend. Hide

We really enjoyed our 7-night stay at Corner Cottage it was just right for us as a couple travelling with our dog. The cottage was comfortable and well-suited to a relaxing break. The village itself is lovely, with a great choice of pubs and cafs, and its very dog-friendly. One of the highlights was being able to head out on walks straight fromRead more the door without needing to drive, which made the stay especially easy and enjoyable. Parking was a slight inconvenience, as we werent able to pay for the car park for the full week in one go, so it required a bit of topping up. That said, it didnt detract from our overall experience. Wed highly recommend the walk to Flatford a real must-do while staying here. The Old Bakery Caf was particularly friendly and welcoming, and we found ourselves preferring The Sun Inn over The Marlborough for food and atmosphere. Overall, a really enjoyable stay in a charming location wed happily return. Hide

It's a lovely wee 500yr old cottage in a very busy village that's visited by many tourists for its river. They've locked down the whole area for parking so that was a bigger issue to me than I expected. I think this is very new to the renting market and the homework has not been done by the owners.
