The beach is a mixture of sand and shingle, with extensive rock pools to be explored at low tide. Pet-friendly Plaidy Beach is also just a mile away. Well behaved salty seadogs can join you aboard a glass-bottom boat ride around Looe Island, a marine nature reserve and wildlife haven. Picturesque Polperro (5 miles) is home to the fascinating Museum of Smuggling and Fishing (dogs are welcome). Enjoy a peaceful walk through ancient oak trees in Kilminorth Woods at the entrance to West Looe Valley.
