Staffield is a fantastic base for walkers, with numerous tracks and trails branching away from the hamlet. You’ll also be within easy reach of the well-trodden paths of the Lake District and North Pennines. In the evenings, share stories around the firepit or relax in the bubbling hot tub.
The cottage has a unique blend of original features and contemporary touches, creating a stylish yet cosy retreat. After a day of adventure with your canine buddies, unwind in the gorgeous lounge/diner, which is decorated in warming tones and has a fabulous wood burner for toasting toes and paws on chilly nights. Tucked in one corner is a dining table for enjoying mealtimes as a group. Just off the lounge/diner is a sleek kitchen with everything needed for a self-catering break. Upstairs, two inviting bedrooms await – a king-size and a twin – along with a beautiful family bathroom with a free-standing bath. Outside, the garden features a decked area with outdoor furniture and a relaxing hot tub for reviving weary legs after a long walk. There’s also a raised garden with a lawn area where the pups can play and an additional seating area with a firepit. In the outhouse, you’ll find a washing machine, WC, and bike storage. Private parking is available for one car, and there is also on-street parking, subject to availability.
The historic market town of Penrith is just under 10 miles away. Spend time here, wandering amongst the stunning, red sandstone buildings and enjoying a spot of retail therapy in the independent shops and open-air markets. Just outside the town, you and your canine sidekicks can explore the magnificent gardens of Lowther Castle (16 miles). Further afield, ride on the paw-friendly Ullswater Steamers (21 miles), or take on the mighty Helvellyn (26 miles), where you and the woofers will be rewarded with panoramic Lakeland views.
