Treat yourselves to a dog-friendly stay in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. This three-bedroom cottage in Reeth, 11 miles from Richmond, is surrounded by picturesque walks through glorious Upper Swaledale. Sleeping five guests, it overlooks the pretty village green where you and your waggy-tailed chum can stroll in the sunshine.
Towel damp paws and slide shoes off in the porch before heading inside. Amble through to the main lounge with your faithful friend to fire up the toasty wood burner and let your pal flop on the carpet for a well-earned rest. Catch up on your favourite boxset on the Smart TV or play a family game. Take your contented canine through to the snug if he needs a little break from the throng. The kitchen/diner is another great space for pets and people. Here he can keep you company as you rustle up culinary delights for hounds and humans to dine on. There is also a WC nearby and a useful utility room for rinsing through damp dog towels after wet walks. Make your way up to the first floor of the cottage to bed, where you will find a single bedroom, plus two doubles, one of which has an en-suite shower room. All the bedrooms have TVs, and the family bathroom is also here. Step out into fresh Yorkshire air to take your pup for a morning walk. Have coffee on the bench to the front of the cottage or bring out the fold-up table for breakfast. There is off-road parking for two cars.
Pick up the Corpse Way in Reeth and follow it for a spell with your canine walking companion. This 16-mile medieval track will take you through some enchanting Swaledale scenery. Explore Richmond Castle, where four-pawed visitors are very welcome.
