With ample space for six guests, the spacious safari tent-style bolthole also has plenty of room for two furry four-legged adventurers keen to explore the region’s picturesque countryside. Set on a raised platform in a tranquil field on a working farm, this beautifully arranged canvas hideaway features a welcoming wood burner, a serene veranda and a fire pit, with 200 acres of land to explore with your pets off-lead.
Six steps lead up onto the impressive glass-balustraded veranda which leads through to the airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with wooden flooring and rustic-style furnishings. The cheerful lounge has comfortable seating, a wood burner and a Smart TV, and the farmhouse dining table is over by the fully equipped kitchen area. There’s also a refreshing shower room and three pretty bedrooms: a king-size room with a four-poster bed, a sweet twin room, and a lovely double set in a cosy bunk-style cabin. Back outside, the raised veranda has ample seating, perfect for settling back with a drink and taking in the view. A few steps lead down into the private field, with plenty of space for your pets to roam, alongside a sweet fire pit area with a swinging hammock. Parking is available for two cars.
On-site, you can help feed the farm animals, including donkeys, hens, pigs and sheep – many of them either rescued or retired. The farm also features a shared games room where you can play darts and table tennis. The historic town of Great Torrington (4 miles) has a choice of pet-friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants. Your pets can join you at Northam Burrows, Halsdon Nature Reserve, and Peppercombe Beach, all within 16 miles.
