Introduce your pets to beautiful Pembrokeshire with a stay at this charming riverside cottage. It’s in the heart of St Dogmaels – and with a name like that, how could you not bring the family pet? You’ll be just 150 metres from the pretty River Teifi, placing you perfectly for peaceful waterside strolls or setting off for the day on the iconic Pembrokeshire Coast Path, which runs right past the front door. With space for four guests over two bedrooms, this holiday dwelling is ideal for couples and small families.
On arrival, you’ll step straight into an open-plan living area which makes it easy to relax with your dogs. It has gorgeous wooden ceiling beams, soft seating and plenty of rug space for pet naps. Further down is a table for dining and a compact but well-equipped kitchen at the end. Upstairs, you’ll find two spacious double bedrooms – one looks out across the garden while the other has views over the river. A modern shower room completes the upstairs. Out the back, a few steps from the kitchen lead to your private enclosed garden, where you can enjoy a cuppa while the dog sniffs about on the lawn. There’s also a sunny patio area at the front – perfect for morning coffee or just watching the world go by.
If your dog enjoys beach days head to the sandy stretch of Poppit Beach (1 mile) – ideal for zoomies and salty sea (some dog restrictions in summer). The village itself has cosy pubs, a popular weekly farmers' market and the Grade I listed ruins of St Dogmaels Abbey (and as you’d hope with a name like that, dogs on leads are welcome). If your furry friend loves the great outdoors, head to the wild Preseli Mountains (17.5 miles) for new sights and smells galore.
