The period property creates a unique backdrop for a memorable holiday with family, friends and your three favourite hairy companions. Enjoy woodland walks with the woofer from the front door, or stroll along the peaceful River Esk. You’ll also be just 8 miles from the paw-friendly beaches of the Cumbrian coast. Dine in style in the grand dining room, before relaxing in one of the two elegant lounges. The hounds will be in their element exploring the beautiful, enclosed garden.

Enter the magnificent property via the utility room, where you can store your walking gear. Steps lead from here to the spacious kitchen/diner, with everything you need to whip up a hearty meal for the group to enjoy together in the impressive dining room, complete with period furniture and artwork. Further steps take you to the cosy lounge and a roaring wood burner. Relax on the sofa to watch the TV, whilst Rover and Fido stretch out on the rug. There’s also a quiet study, where you can take time out to read a book. Upstairs is a second lounge, as well as steps leading to the king-size bedroom with its 300-year-old four-poster bed! Steps lead down to the other bedrooms – a double, a twin, and a bunk bedroom. Outside is an enclosed garden of colourful flowers, lawn, and pond (ensure children and dogs are supervised).

Head to Boot, 1 mile away, to board the steam train of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway. You and your canine buddies can journey through the mountainous scenery all the way to the coast, where you’ll find a woof-welcoming beach for them to charge around on. The grounds of Muncaster Castle (7 miles) are also great for pups, with woodlands and wild gardens to explore and a vast lawn where you can share a picnic.

Dalegarth Hall exceeded all of our expectations. It was clean and kitted out like a family home with everything you could need. The property itself is stunning and historic, an exceptional experience! All the books and antiques just add to the atmosphere. Overall it was a great experience to stay in such a historic home and it was very well equipped for our needs. Unfortunately the tree had fallen in the garden making it more inconvenient for our furry friends and ourselves. Would definitely recommend, although not 5 star, it made you feel quite special.

The house is amazing and any minor moans we had were virtually insignificant. We had a great time. It really is a window into another world. A superb location for walks and 'chillin out'. It is a lovely, characterful and spacious house. The gardens were beautiful and extensive, the Aga a joy to use and all in all just a super holiday property, in a very attractive part of the country.

The cottage was just amazing, loved the cottage so much wish it was ours. The beds are to die for, so comfortable and super dreamy! It was equipt with everything you could think of and even has throws for the dogs in the wet room. Spacious and characterful property with a really attractive enclosed garden. Beautiful quiet location but still only a 10 minute walk to the pubs in Boot village, and even closer to Dalegarth Station. Very well equipped, clean, and great shared spaces (lounge, dining room and kitchen), plus a really handy extra lounge upstairs and a study downstairRead mores. Beautiful place - very comfortable cottage, very well equipped and very clean and comfortable. The garden was lovely and we saw red squirrels, wood peckers and a host of smaller birds. A real delight!

Our third visit to this wonderful house. We love the homely feel of the replace and the generous provision of kitchen equipment, laundry facilities and logs for the wood burner. Great place for drying out and warming up with a hearty meal after an Autumn walk on the fells!

Dalegarth Hall is as beautiful as it looks in the photos and as grand as its name suggests. There were only two of us and our cocker spaniel staying, so we rattled around a bit, but it was wonderfully cosy (loved having the AGA, not just for cooking, but for drying Lake District damp clothes). Scooby enjoyed exploring the garden, which was totally Read moreescape proof, even by his standards, making it far more relaxing for us. Beautiful house in the most perfect location with lots of walks from the doorstep, waterfalls, wild swimming spots and a couple of great pubs within walking distance. The house is large and well-equipped with a lovely garden. Very peaceful and quiet.
