With incredible sea views and a secret pathway leading to the sandy beach below, we can think of no better place to escape to with man’s best friend than this pet-friendly cottage. Set in an elevated position above the village of Aberdovey, with pubs and fish and chip shops just half a mile away, you’re well-positioned to enjoy restful nights and slow mornings between long days of canine-compatible adventures in the surrounding Snowdonia National Park. Four guests and two pups are invited to pack their tennis balls, doggie treats, and a hearty picnic to step out and get exploring, finding plenty to see and do along the coastline in Tywyn (4 miles) or amidst the magnificent Gwynedd countryside.
This quirky coastal retreat has been lovingly decorated with farmhouse charm and soft pastel styling, creating an endearing and comfortable cottage. Stone-flagged flooring greets you in the kitchen/diner – a delight when returning home with muddy paws – and the lounge just next door offers a cosy space to unwind. Plenty of seating and a TV with a Firestick keep the humans of the pack entertained, while your pets can curl up in a comfy corner and drift off. Leave sleeping dogs to lie as you head upstairs to bed, where you’ll find a double and a twin room. Outside, a tiered garden is an exceptional addition, complete with furniture and a charcoal BBQ to make the most of sunny days.
The Cardigan Bay coastline stretches out on either side, with breathtaking coastal scenery ready to be explored on every daily dog walk. Leave no stick unfetched along the Wales Coast Path, letting Rover lead the way. Venturing inland, start your adventure in Machynlleth (11 miles), an eclectic town surrounded by nature walks and scenic footpaths.
