The serenity is unparalleled at this Highlands retreat – a wonderful place to escape with man’s best friend by your side. With your dog at your heel and your loved ones close by, you can spend time exploring the epic Scottish countryside, with fells and firths aplenty. Be sure to pack a tennis ball or two, along with plenty of puppy treats in your daily supplies and let Rover off the lead to sniff out adventure in and around Cromarty. The property itself is a waterfront paradise that accommodates four guests and one pup, complete with dazzling estuary views to wake up to each morning and comfortable surroundings to unwind in as day turns to night. Follow Fido inside and make yourselves at home. This light and bright property offers a cheerful, single-storey layout, and laminated flooring throughout ensures there’ll be no sandy pawprints left behind. Let your dog round up their pack for cosy evenings in the lounge/kitchen/diner – an all-encompassing space to centre daily life around. Along the hall, two bedrooms await dog-tired bodies when night falls, and a shower room offers a refreshing soak after a day of hiking. Outside, you’ll find on-street parking and a sunny green shared with the neighbours. This space is unenclosed, so care should be taken with escape-prone pets. Coastal Cromarty is a historic 18th-century town on the tip of the Black Isle, surrounded by dramatic scenery and coastal walks. Take the ferry over to Nigg (3.5 miles) and leave no stick unfetched on your way up to Nigg Bay, spotting the fantastic birdlife in this RSPB reserve as you go. There’s a never-ending array of walkies routes on the way up to Balintore (8.5 miles) and all the way to Portmahomack (15 miles), where you might even spot dolphins in the sea.
