Your canine companion will savour a stay at this sumptuous County Durham holiday home just as much as everyone else in your party. With a lovely garden for him to bound about in on summer afternoons, it also features an open fire for warming chilly fur after winter walks. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom period house is situated in Beamish, 8 miles from Durham and 12 miles from the magnificent North Pennines National Landscape.

Open the front door to let your pup pad into this plush retreat. From the impressive reception hall, head into the lounge to discover elegant furnishings and the open fire. Settle on the sofa in front of the Smart TV while your delighted dog stretches out on the rug. Take him through to the gorgeous kitchen, which is open-plan to the orangery. One end of this light-filled space offers additional comfortable seating, another Smart TV and exquisite windows and doors to the garden. Prepare delicious feasts and feed your four-legged friend at the other end, where there is a breakfast bar. There is also a formal dining room, a utility room and a WC downstairs. Bid your chum goodnight and head up to the bedrooms on the first floor. Here you will find an expansive landing leading to a super-king-size bedroom, with a luxurious en-suite bathroom and private terrace, a king-size, with an en-suite shower room, a twin and a double. There is also a sumptuous family bathroom. Take your pet out to play on the wrap-around lawn. Unwind on the patio or deck with him by your side. There is off-road parking for four cars.

Visit Beamish Museum, less than 1 mile away, where your pal can accompany you through the grounds. Picturesque Waldridge Fell Country Park, 4 miles away, is another great dog-friendly destination.

We had a wonderful week at Osborne Villa. The house was so well presented, with plenty of room for all eight of us. The lovely flowers, bottle of wine and chocolates were a welcome surprise. Angela the owner was so helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. The house was spotless, when we arrived and the photographs did not do it jRead moreustice. It had a real wow factor. Thel location was ideal for Beamish museum, which we visited several times during our stay. There were plenty of restaurants locally. Durham city was within easy reach. Wow what a fabulous property!! Everything from the moment we arrived was amazing! Great communication with owner who was lovely. So comfortable warm and well equipped! A beautiful house in a lovely location. You probably need a car but good local bus service. Hosts very accommodating and helpful, felt we could have asked anything. Really well equipped house, a home from home. We loved seeing the horses in the field behind garden. We had a brilliant stay and would love to re- visit.
