Fox Cottage is really pretty, cosy and deceptively spacious. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the cottage was equipped with everything we needed, and more. There are lots of thoughtful touches for everyone booked as guests, including in the welcome pack. The gardens lovely - and completely secure for our dog, which made it so relaxing for us. WRead moreithin a short walk are a Co-op, a nice pub and a fish and chip shop, and a scenic walk around a lake. Its a great base for visiting the wider area - and theres loads of useful info in the cottage. We would definitely book Fox Cottage if we were planning a holiday in the heart of North Yorkshire again. Hide

Best cottage we have visited so far, warm, comfortable, plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 dogs with a lakeside walk practically on the doorstep.

The cottage was just lovely, well looked after and situated in a lovely village. I dont think we have ever seen a food parcel quite like the one received - thoughtful, kind and very tasty! Like all homes things go wrong - and it was just unfortunate timing that the oven did not work over the Easter weekend. We are mentioning in the review to highRead morelight that it was just bad timing, no fault of the owners who remedied the situation as fast as possible. Opting to have a whole oven replaced and working as quickly and possible, alongside offering to cook a roast chicken for Easter Sunday. They went above and beyond and we felt so welcomed. We would not hesitate to recommend. Situated in an accessible location for site seeing and it also has a beautiful enclosed garden. Hide

We recently stayed at this property as a group of four adults and a dog whilst visiting family locally. We have just returned from a week staying at Fox Cottage and the property is just what we hoped for. When we arrived we thought it was going to be smaller than we had expected however on entering we were pleasantly surprised. It retains a cosy charm with ample space. A well equipped kitchen leading into a charming lounge with additional bonus of a Read moredining area. The bedrooms are roomy and the bed was super comfortable. I didnt want to get up each morning. I was working from home at the cottage and the wifi is excellent. There is also a super secure garden which our 8 year old cocker spaniel was able to safely explore. Lots of information and helpful tips left around the cottage and we will definitely put this on our list of properties to rebook. Fabulous all round. Hide

This cottage was in a perfect location for our needs, close to good transport links and places for great days out. It was clean and comfortable and had everything in it that we needed. Things like plenty of toilet roll, tin foil and cling film made a difference to what we needed to bring/buy. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, chocolates, wine, tRead moreea, milk and dog treats. The sofas and beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean and the cottage was very warm and cosy. It was very dog friendly and loads of space to put our crate. Some fabulous places nearby for great dog walks, both in the village and beyond. Would recommend Kiplin Hall, Thorp Perrow Arboretum and Foxglove Covert. Would recommend this cottage, dont expect super modern, but definitely expect comfort and a feeling of being at home. Hide
