When it’s finally time to pause from chasing your tail, there are two delightful bedrooms, both en-suite super-king-size zip-and-links (can be made up as two twins), one of which features an original exposed stone wall and full-length windows looking out towards the patio. Outside, the enclosed patio is perfect for dining alfresco at the end of a busy day. There’s also a shared enclosed field for dogs to run around, as well as a shared washing and drying room with a doggy shower. Please note that farm dogs and chickens roam freely across the grounds of the smallholding. Private parking is available for two cars.

Take the lead to Sedbergh, 1.5 miles away, to weave your way around the charming narrow streets lined with a wonderful variety of independent shops and traditional pubs showcasing some of this area’s best local produce. Enjoy a long walkies through the Valley of Dentdale to the charming village of Dent (7 miles), where you and your pup can jump aboard the Settle to Carlisle railway, which journeys across the well-known Ribblehead Viaduct.
