Perfectly placed for access to both the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks, this former threshing barn offers the ultimate rural retreat for both keen outdoor explorers and canine companions alike

Featuring stone walls and a beamed ceiling, the spacious lounge/diner at the heart of this home-away-from-home offers plenty of space for you to unwind as your pup curls up beside the coal-effect wood burner. Lead the way into the contemporary country cottage-style kitchen to rustle up some tasty treats and fill your pup’s water bowl. When it’s finally time to pause from chasing your tail, there are two delightful bedrooms, both en-suite super-king-size zip-and-links (can be made up as two twins), one of which features an original exposed stone wall and full-length windows looking out towards the patio. Outside, the enclosed patio is perfect for dining alfresco at the end of a busy day. There’s also a shared enclosed field for dogs to run around, as well as a shared washing and drying room with a doggy shower. Please note that farm dogs and chickens roam freely across the grounds of the smallholding. Private parking is available for two cars.

Surrounded by a wealth of walks within the surrounding farmland and countryside beyond, and with the River Rawthey passing close by, your pup will have a ball exploring this peaceful spot in the Yorkshire Dales. Take the lead to Sedbergh, 1.5 miles away, to weave your way around the charming narrow streets lined with a wonderful variety of independent shops and traditional pubs showcasing some of this area’s best local produce. Enjoy a long walkies through the Valley of Dentdale to the charming village of Dent (7 miles), where you and your pup can jump aboard the Settle to Carlisle railway, which journeys across the well-known Ribblehead Viaduct.

We had a wonderful week long stay in Boskins. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, incredibly comfortable, a real home from home. The location is stunning on one side you can enjoy the views of the Howgill Fells & just a short walk away down a field on Sam & Paul's small holding you can enjoy a walk along the river. The owners Sam & Paul are Read moreincredibly welcoming & the welcome pack was a real treat & thoroughly enjoyed! The cottage is also ideally located to explore the Yorkshire Dales & the Lake District, we spent most of the week exploring the Lakes visiting the Cumbrian Heavy Horses, Blackwell Arts & Crafts house, Hill Top, Lowther Castle, Levens Hall & we also enjoyed Ambleside, Coniston Water & Ullswater too! But the real stars of the hoilday were the wonderful animals, it was a real treat to be greeted on our return every afternoon by five wagging tails, the owners five dogs are very friendly & it really makes you feel more at home. The donkeys, Seren, Paddy & Albert are gorgeous! And the chickens were a delight! We are very much hoping to return to this beautiful place & would highly recommend it. Thanks Sam & Paul! Hide

A beautiful barn conversion, everything you need and nothing you don't. One small step to enter and no more inside, perfect for those with mobility issues. Well behaved dogs welcome and a convenient EV charger make this a perfect package. Unfortunately there is a short grass slope to access the fields and river which due to the wet weather made thiRead mores slippy and prevented my wife from enjoying this area. But it didn't stop me and our dog having fun there. All in all an excellent base from which to explore further afield. Thanks Paul and Sam for a very pleasant stay. Hide
