Property code: OC-F31871

Perfect for couples or small families bringing along their four-pawed pal, this traditional Yorkshire cottage offers a warm welcome in the heart of the historic market town of Richmond. With a roaring wood burner, scenic trails on the doorstep and pet-friendly pubs around every corner, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy the Dales with your trusty tail-wagger by your side.

Step through the door and into what was once a clay potter’s workshop. Today, this delightful cottage is a stylish yet homely space to unwind in after a day of fresh air and fun. Pop muddy boots and damp leads in the hallway before freshening up in the sleek shower room. A few steps lead up to the bright open-plan living space, where the well-equipped kitchen makes mealtimes a breeze. The breakfast bar awaits for a morning brew, while the lounge area, with its crackling wood burner, invites you to curl up in comfort while your pup dreams by the fire. Head upstairs to find two tranquil double bedrooms decorated in calming tones. Outside, your private walled courtyard is a peaceful setting for morning coffee and simply relaxing with your pup. On-street parking is available within 100 metres.

Wander the cobbled streets of the town’s marketplace, where weekly stalls and a monthly farmers’ market offer local treats for humans and perhaps a homemade biscuit or two for your furry friend. History hounds will enjoy the town’s centrepiece, Richmond Castle, with walks leading from the ramparts down to the river and waterfalls. You’ll also want to explore the beautifully restored Victorian railway building, where you can grab an ice cream, browse local art or sample a real ale (pets are welcome in many parts). Beyond the town, the wild expanse of Swaledale and the Yorkshire Dales National Park beckons adventurers with miles of footpaths.

The Potter's cottage is a lovely quaint and quirky place to stay. It's well kitted out and cosy with the log burner too. My wife and me found that it had a peaceful vibe about it, and will definitely stay again. The view to the rear of the cottage is stunning as it overlooks the river swale and if you leave your window slightly open, you can hear tRead morehe falls. Very soothing. We booked this for our wedding anniversary and it ticked the box. Loads of places to eat and drink, and lots of history on the door step. Hide

The quirky cottage was very cosy and comfortable. Evening though there was no central heating the electric radiators and wood burner was more than adequate and held the heat and the property was never cold, even though the weather had started to turn with the cooler evenings. The welcome pack was lovely and the kitchen equipment was well thought Read morethrough. It was very central to the local area and cannot fault it. The only problem was the parking and we really enjoyed our stay. Hide
